True Sustainability: Why We at Triskel Design for the Long Term

There is an image that is not easily forgotten.

Mountains of clothes. Kilometers of textiles abandoned under a gray sky.

Not just any old dump. In what was once all the rage.

When I saw that post that went viral a few days ago—and that many of you also saw—it really struck a chord with me. Not just as the founder of a clothing brand, but as a woman who has been asking herself this uncomfortable question for years:

Where are we really starting from?

Because this line of thinking makes it clear in a way that leaves no room for doubt: not everything that’s recycled is sustainable. And not everything that seems sustainable is a solution.

Reflections on Sustainability and Mindful Consumption in Fashion
Versatile clothing designed to last and suit different occasions

The problem isn't just about materials. It's about logic.

For a long time, we were led to believe that changing the fabric meant changing the system. That if the label said «organic cotton» or «sustainable production,» the garment was automatically a good choice for the planet.

But a garment made from sustainable materials that nobody actually wears—one that sits forgotten in a closet or ends up in inventory with no future—also pollutes. It also generates waste. It just has a better story.

True sustainability doesn't start with the label.

Start earlier.

In theory.

In wondering whether that garment had any reason to exist.

If it's going to last.

If it is going to be used.

If it is to be desired beyond the first week.

Designing garments that stand the test of time

That's why, at Triskel, our main focus was never just on the material.

When I started building this brand, I had to ask myself some questions that can sometimes be uncomfortable:

  • Will this garment actually be worn—often, on many different occasions?
  • Will it be a part of the buyer's real life—not just for a season?
  • Will it still be relevant two years from now?

Those questions led us to design with versatility and timelessness as guiding principles, not as trends.

Clothes that go with you from a yoga class to a coffee shop, from a wellness retreat to a morning at home.

Silhouettes that don't compete for space in the closet, but instead find their place naturally, day after day, moment after moment.

Because the most sustainable garment is the one that doesn't end up as waste.

And for that to happen, she has to be loved, cherished, and desired.

Our commitment continues after your purchase

But we also know that good design alone isn't enough.

Even the most cherished garment has a life cycle.

And when that cycle ends, the responsibility cannot fall solely on the buyer.

That's why we created the Triskel Circle.

A program through which we take your clothes off your hands when you no longer want to wear them.

The process is simple and deliberate:

  • Go through your closet and pick out the Triskel items you no longer wear.
  • You can either mail them to us or drop them off.
  • We sort them carefully.

If they're in good condition, we donate them to those who need them.

If there's any minor damage, we'll fix it.

And once they've reached the end of their useful life, we recycle them so they can be turned into new textile material.

In return, you'll receive a discount coupon for your next purchase.

Not as an incentive for quick consumption.

But rather as a recognition that you chose to bring this chapter to a close with intention.

Because nothing is lost.

Everything changes.

Changing the Logic of Fashion

True sustainability does not mean causing less harm while following the same logic.

It's all about changing your mindset.

And for us, that change starts with design.

It is still in use.

And it doesn't end until the garment finds a way to return.
